Joint Foreword

18th APSPGHAN Conference – Bali, Indonesia | 7–10 July 2027

We are deeply honored to welcome all delegates to the 18th Asia Pacific Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (APSPGHAN) Conference, held on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia. It is a privilege to gather colleagues, friends, and partners from across Indonesia, the Asia-Pacific region, and the global PGHN community for this important meeting.

As the current and incoming Presidents, we are honored to lead APSPGHAN—an active member of FISPGHAN and a key contributor to the global pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition community. The Asia-Pacific region is home to nearly half of the world’s children, giving our society a unique responsibility and an increasingly influential role in shaping the future of pediatric digestive health worldwide.

Our region faces a rapidly evolving landscape. We are witnessing a rise in new and emerging conditions, including the increasing burden of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, while continuing to manage re-emerging and persistent infectious diseases that remain highly prevalent in tropical settings. This dual challenge underscores the need for innovation, collaboration, and context-appropriate solutions across borders.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Boundaries: Holistic, Sustainable & Innovative Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Care for All,” reflects our shared commitment to addressing these realities with scientific rigor, compassion, and a vision for equitable care. The 2027 program brings together leading experts, emerging researchers, and dedicated clinicians to explore scientific breakthroughs, practical strategies, and regionally relevant approaches that can improve the lives of children and families across diverse settings.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI), the local organizing and scientific committees, APSPGHAN members, partners, and sponsors for their dedication in bringing this conference to life. We also hope you will experience the warmth, culture, and hospitality that Bali is renowned for.

On behalf of APSPGHAN, we warmly welcome you to Bali. May this conference strengthen our collaborations, deepen our shared understanding, and move us closer to our collective vision: “Every Child, Every Country, One Shared Future.”

Warm regards,
